In a monumentally tight post-season in the "A" league, Boca Seniors pipped Delta to the title with a last-day win. A 3-1 victory was enough to give Boca the title in a league where only 5 points separated top from bottom.
A last day win for Wembledines vs Alfies moved them up to 4th place and meant Alfies missed out on an opportunity to qualify for the Champions League.
In the "B" league, both the title and Champions League spots were decided ahead of the final games. As first played second, Bluestreak recorded a morale boosting 2-1 win over Friday Night Lights to put them in a confident mood heading into their Champions League tie vs "A" champions Boca next week. Friday Night Lights had done enough throughout the season to secure top spot and will look forward to testing themselves against Delta in their Champions League semi-final. Meanwhile Cutters grabbed a clean sheet and a win in their 1-0 win over Delta United FC to finish their post season on a high.
Friday 25th March sees the beginning of the Cup competitions with the semi-finals of the Champions League and Europa League taking place. In the Champions League, "A" winners Boca Seniors take on "B" second place Bluestreak, while "B" winners Friday Night Lights take on "A" second place Delta. In the Europa League, Alfies will face Cutters in the first semi-final and Wembledines will take on Team Lightning in the second semi-final. Finals night will take place on 1st April as 6 teams look to make fools of each other in the three Cup finals. Kearney's Army will play Delta United FC in the Intertoto Cup final at 7pm, while the winners of the two Europa League semis will also meet at 7pm. The curtain closer for the season will take place at 8pm as the Champions League final will decide the 2021/22 Friday Night League Cup winners.
