Cutters and Barely Athletic played out a highly entertaining 2-2 draw on a rainy Friday night. Vinny Jones and David Fitzgreald were making their debut at centre-half for the Cutters and every attack started with them moving through the lines with Jack Begley & Tom Egan cutting out the attacks down the wings. Tom Power controlled midfield with some crunching tackles. For the opening goal, Power fed the ball through to Aidan Moriarty and onto new Dad Cormac O'Donovan. O'Donovan struck the ball into the back of the net to give Cutters their 1st goal, a lovely goal to dedicate to his beautiful baby daughter Skye. Cutters came in 1 up at half time and Barely knew their work would be cut out for them in the second half. Barely Athletic's Adam found to crucial breakthrough to tie up the game but it wasn't long before Cutters were on top again, this time courtesy of Cathal Murphy. Michael Clancy cut out an attack and then layed the ball off to Justin O'Brien. O'Brien crossed to Aidan Moriarty who set up Murphy to score the Cutters 2nd goal. Barely Athletic kept battling and found their second goal towards the ends of the game. 2-2 the final score as both teams remain level at the top of group C.
