Barely hold Dines to draw - Bluestreak hopes still alive

As we go into the final week of the regular season, bottom team Barely Athletic did second placed Bluestreak a huge favour by breaking Wembledines perfect record. A scoreless draw saw Barely get their first point of the season while Wembledines experienced the unfamiliar feeling of walking off the pitch without a win. Destiny is still in Wembledines' hands but this draw result gives Bluestreak a glimmer of hope of potentially overtaking Dines in the final furlong. Wembledines will face Team Lightning on the final day and know a win will ensure they retain the FNL league title.

Bluestreak overcame Alfies in an 8 goal thriller. Bluestreak face Barely Athletic in their final game and know a win will be needed to give them any hope of winning the league. Despite the loss, Alfies remain in the top 4 but a final day showdown with Deportivo Dooradoyle might decide whether they are playing top-4 or bottom-4 football in the post-season.

Depotivo recorded a solid 1-0 win over BD Ballers to climb up the table and give themselves an outside shot of finishing in the top half. Should Deportivo beat Alfies, they will leapfrog Alfies by virtue of the head-to-head result despite both teams finishing on the same points. Should this happen, Team Lightning's result versus Wembledines will decide the top 4 - if Lightning lose to Dines and Alfies lose to Deportivo, all three teams will finish on ten points and the finishing order will depend on goal difference in the the head-to-head matches involving the three team - mathematical permutations galore.

In Cutters' penultimate game vs Lightning, the spoils were shared as Lightning came from a goal behind with ten men to rescue a point.
