7pm Gems FC V Cappaquigley Athletic Pitch 1
Gems came into this game still searching for their first points against a CappaQuigley side with a win and a loss to its name
Gems couldn’t have wished for a worse start as CappaQuigley took the lead straight from a long shot from kick off
They could have found themselves 2 down early on if it weren’t for some goalkeeping heroics
CappaQuigley did find a second on the 15 min mark as they pressed well, won the ball back high and finished excellently
Cappa took full control of the game as they broke quickly, worked the ball down the right hand side and squared in an inch perfect cross to go 3 up.
After 23 mins they added a 4th with a tidy finish into the corner that came off the post and into the Gems net

The second half was more of the same as Cappa found a 5th early on and a 6th on 45 mins
Gems did manage to pull one back after a stunning effort from the side of the box went in over the keepers head

7pm Wembledines V Team Lightning Pitch 2
Team Lightning were hoping to remain in top spot as they faced off against Wembledines
Wembledines stormed into the lead after 2 minutes after a great cross from the left was headed across goal and into the bottom corner
After a cagey 20 mins Lightning started to move the ball well and got their reward and found the equaliser as Chimka Manjors goal bound shot was deflected, leaving the Wembledines keeper with no chance
Just before the half time whistle Lightning found themselves after a superb effort from range from Mick Evitt
HT 2-1 Lightning
Both teams pushed in the early stages of the second half and Mick Eevitt came closest as his free kick rattled the crossbar
With the final kick of the game Lightning had the chance to seal the win from the spot. Aidan Hurley stepped up and coolly dispatched
FT 3-1 Lightning
8pm Polonia Limerick V Barely Athletic Pitch 1
Both Polonia and Barely Athletic have enjoyed decent starts to league and this one promised to be a cracking game
There was a lot of quality on show in the early exchanges with both teams evening each other out and failing to make any notable chances
It was Polonia that struck first on 17 mins as they slipped a ball through into the box and expertly finished
HT 1-0 Polonia
It was a decent start to the second half but again chances were few and far between
Polonia did manage to double their lead after an emphatic finish on 43 mins
With 3 mins remaining Barely managed to set up a tense finish as they pulled one back
