Comebacks from Cutters and Bluestreak

 7pm Cutters V Brazuca Legends

Brazuca stormed into an early lead after a great ball was played forward through the middle to their attacker whi made no mistake and emphatically finished passed the Cutters keeper

Brazuca almost doubled their lead on 23 mins when a superb corner was headed just wide

HT 1-0 Brazuca

Cutters shot out of the blocks and equalised just over a minute into the second half. A teasing cross was well finished by David Fitz

Cutters then took the lead after a brilliant strike from outside the box from Shane McLoughlin on 40 mins

Brazuca were reduced to 10 men after a yellow card on 47 mins. Cutters tried to pounce on the advantage and came close with the resultant free kick.

They pushed hard for the next few minutes but just couldn’t double their lead

Cutters did manage to seal the win when Jack Begley found Brian McLeish to cross for Oisin Reed who stuck the ball in the back of the net just before the final whistle

FT 3-1 Cutters

7pm The Black Swans V Team Lightning

It was a fairly cagey start to the game with both teams evenly matched and failing to create any notable chances in the first 20 mins

Lightning had a decent chance to open the scoring on 24 mins when an inviting corner from Craig Reddan was just inches away from connecting with the head of the in rushing Damien Collins

HT 0-0

After 15 mins of the second half this one looked like it had all the makings of a nil all draw with both keepers, Ed Doyle and Dean Lillis, proving equal to what the opposition had to offer

Lightning were given the chance to take the lead on 48 mins from the penalty spot with the responsibility falling to Aidan Hurley. Once again Ed Doyle proved himself up to the task as he dove well to his left to deny Lightning the lead.

Incredibly just two mins later it was the Swans turn from the spot. This time however, Liam Danaher made no mistake and fired them into the lead

That goal was to be the difference as the Black Swans managed to secure the 3 points

FT 1-0 The Black Swans

8pm Wembledines V Mulcair Rovers

Both teams had a decent start to the game and looked up for it. It was Wembledines that asked the first question on 15 mins when a brilliant effort from range hit the crossbar and went over.

Not long after they found themselves in front after an inviting corner was well met and headed into the bottom corner of the Mulcair net

Wembledines would have been two up if it hadn’t have been for some excellent goalkeeping from the Mulcair keeper who was on hand when the Wembledines Attacker came through 1 on 1 on 22 mins

Mulcair were level after 25 minutes when a rolling ball across the edge of the box was fired into the bottom corner

Seconds before the half time whistle Wembledines we’re almost ahead again only for them to see another effort rattle the crossbar

HT 1-1

The second half was even but both teams were looking to take the lead. It was Wembledines who came closest in the first 15 mins, incredibly, hitting the post yet again

Mulcair saw themselves receive a yellow after a mistimed challenge on 48 mins

The game remained level until one minute to go when a Wembledines corner was well defended by Mulcair who managed to break up the field and forced a 3v2 which they worked perfectly and slotted home what looked to be the winner.

However it wasn’t to be as Wembledines managed to go right up the other end from tip off to clinch the equaliser with the last kick of the game.

FT 2-2

8pm Cappaquigley Athletic V Bluestreak

CappaQuigley came closest in the early exchanges as they saw a fierce effort rattle off the post in the 8th minute

Both teams were playing some really good quality football in the first 20 mins but neither was able to find an opening

Bluestreak saw yellow and were reduced to 10 after a push through the back 25 mins in

CappaQuigley took advantage of the extra man and found themselves in front through a very tidy finish

HT 1-0 CappaQuigley

Bluestreak almost levelled 5 minutes into the second half but their decent headed effort was acrobatically saved by the CappaQuigley keeper

But it was CappaQuigley that would strike next after an inch perfect pass was met and coolly slotted home on 41 mins

This two goal cushion wasn’t to last long as 4 mins later Bluestreak managed to pull one back with a very nice finish.

Bluestreak then managed to find the equaliser after a great cross was nodded down inside the box for Tom Hayes to calmly finish

Bluestreak left it late but they did manage to find the winner just seconds before the final whistle to cap off an excellent second half performance

FT 3-2 Bluestreak
