After leading 1-0 at half time, Wembledines put in an impressive 2nd half to display to cause a blow to Deportivo's league hopes. The regular season champs added 3 second half goals as Deportivo became stretched chasing the game. Bluestreak let a 2 goal lead slip vs Team Lightning which keeps the top of the table interesting. An extra 2 point cushion would've been desirable for Bluestreak but the neutrals will be looking forward to next week's 1st vs 2nd showdown. With head-to-head results being the primary tiebreaker, Deportivo know a win will put destiny in their own hands heading into the final game. In the other night's games, BD managed to hold Cutters scoreless till the break. However, a strong second half saw Cutters run out 3-0 winners. Alfies and Barely Athletic played out a back-and-forth game with both teams leading twice. After a slow start to the game and a 0-0 half time scoreline, the game sprang into life in the second half. Barely took the lead before being pegged back. Alfies then went ahead before Barely scored again to make it 2-2. Barely were first to reach three goals but Alfies responded with two more of their own for a final score of 4-3 Alfies. A big win for Alfies puts a bit of daylight between themselves and Lightning whilst keeping on the pressure on the reinvigorated Wembledines. If Lightning win their game in hand, there would be just 2 points between the 3 teams battling for one Champions League place. An exciting end to the season awaits!
