Bluestreak 4-2 Alfies Heroes
Bluestreak had the ball in the back of the net in the 10th minute but the ball was adjudged to had already gone over the byline in the build up to the goal. A goal from Nicky gave Bluestreak a 1-0 half time lead. In a tight second half, it took a free kick in the 46th minute to put Alfies back on level terms. About 23 yards out in a central position, the ball was slotted in the left hand corner. Bluestreak restored their lead in the 52nd minute. A ball from a corner was only half cleared. Sent back in from a wide area, the Bluestreak man finished from a tight angle. Bluestreak doubled their lead right after and Nicky added a 4th in the 55th minute. Despite a late consolation goal due to a goalkeeping error, 3 goals in 4 minutes killed off Alfies to give Blustreak the win.
Cutters 0-1 Barely Athletic
Barely Athletic followed up last week's 1-0 win with another win by the same margin. A headed Dave O'Byrne goal from a corner (video below) gave Barely the lead in the 26th minute. Barely missed the opportunity to wrap the game up when in the 48th minute they hit the post from the penalty spot. Barely hearts seemed to be broken in the 59th minute as Cutters had the ball in the net only for the referee to blow for offside. A big win for Barely.
Wembledines 4-2 Team Lightning
A 10-man Wembledines produced an impressive performance to overcome Lightning. A great strike from the edge of the box in the 10th minute got Dines up and running. A soft second goal in the 25th minute gave Wembledines a cushion heading into the half time break. The teams traded goals in the second half with Lightning nabbing a goal from an inswinging corner to the backpost in the 40th minute which was headed back across goal by Barry and knocked in by Wobbler. Lightning's second came towards the end of the game. A shot by Mads came off the post and flashed across the face of the goal. Wobbler knocked the cross back in and the unfortunate Dines keeper was caught wrong footed and deflected the ball into the net. Thankfully for Dines, their lead proved too much for Lightning to overcome and they ran out 4-2 winners.
Deportivo Dooradoyle 2-1 BD Ballers
In the 22nd minute, a goal from the penalty spot for Deportivo (video below) gave them the lead in their encounter with BD Ballers. A second goal was added by the Dooradoylers before BD got one back. In the 51st minute, a ball from a free kick was not cleared. The Ballers took the ball down and finished well inside the side netting. A big win for Deportivo to keep them on track and top of the table.
