Bluestreak and Wembledines early pace setters - 23/09/22

Bluestreak made it two wins from two with an emphatic 5-1 win over BD Ballers. With 8 goals in 2 games, this result puts Bluestreak top of the table at this early stage.

Wembledines are also on maximum points but had to fight hard to earn their 1-0 win over Deportivo Dooradoyle. A closely contested game saw Dines get that all important goal to clinch the contest. Deportivo are still in search of their first win of the season after two tight games.

Draw merchants Cutters played out their second 1-1 draw in as many weeks. A good game with Alfies Heroes saw them share the points. Alfies won a penalty in the first half after an Alfies man was stopped by Cutters Michael Clancy inside the box. Cutters keeper Feilim Begley managed to stop the initial shot from the penalty spot but couldn't prevent the follow-up, 1-0 Alfies.

The Cutters midfield of Aidan Moriarty, Pauric O'Loughlan and Cian Moriarty pushed on in the second half running at Alfies and attacking every ball creating goal chances in the process. An outstanding performance from the Alfies keeper saw him deal with everything thrown at him. That was until Cutters debutant Dylan McMahon received a solid pass from David Fitzgerald and blasted the ball into the top corner to make it 1-1. Cutters had one final chance when Cian Begley and Cathal Murphy worked the ball towards the Alfies goal but Alfies keeper was in top form again and the game finished 1-1.

Barely Athletic succumbed to Team Lightning as Lightning won 2-0. This gets Lightning off the mark and have them sitting 4th in the table while Barely Athletic are still in search for their first points of the season and sit in 7th.
