 Cutters 2-1 Delta

Delta took a first half lead in this one with what some would describe as a contentious penalty - (I'm staying firmly on the fence). Delta almost doubled the lead on the stroke of half time as a back peddling Feilim Begley was scrambling to ensure Cutters kept the deficit at one. It took until the final ten minutes for the game to see its second goal. An equaliser from Cutters was met with shouts of "let's push for the winner now" and the pressure was put on Delta right from the kick off. Three minutes later, a jinky run down the right was followed by a cross played towards the front post about 15 yards from goal. A Stephanie Roche-esque touch and shot left the Delta keeper stranded. Cutters saw out the remainder of the game to capture a valuable three points.

Team Lightning 4-3 Bluestreak

A back and forth first half saw both teams get on the scoresheet with Lightning holding a 2-1 lead. That lead was doubled just moments into the second half courtesy of Wobbler. A break down the left saw Maurice cut back in on his right foot. A lofted cross found Wobbler who looped the header back where it came from over the keeper to nestle in the back of the net. 5 minutes later, Lightning came close to wrapping the game up. Njuki played a ball to Maurice who attempted to take a finesse shot curling into the far. A great diving save from the Bluestreak keeper pushed the ball around the post and out for a corner. Bluestreak were back in the game 12 minutes after scoring a great goal. From a goal kick, Tomas Hayes chested the ball down to his fellow midfielder before receiving the ball back. After taking a few touches to work an angle, Tomas played a through ball to find the Bluestreak forward. Picking the ball up centrally about 30 yards from the goal, there was still an awful lot to do. The Bluestreak speedster dribbled towards the left before rifling home with his left foot into the far corner. Lightning's 4th started with build up from David Njuki. Njuki cut in from left midfield and played a ball into the feet of Maurice. Maurice squared a ball to Robbie Hammond who skipped over the ball to allow it through to Wobbler. Taking his time, Wobbler made good contact with the ball and slotted it home. Bluestreak added a third but couldn't do enough to rescue a point.

Boca Seniors 0-0 Alfies Heroes

Boca and Alfies nil all draw was anything but a boring affair. Man of the match goes to Boca goalkeeper Aaron Collins who pulled off three extraordinary saves (along with a few regular old saves). The first half saw Alfies keep the ball well but not getting much joy in the final third. Boca were their usual high energy selves looking to play the ball into the channels to release their quick forwards. The chance of the half came in the 18th minute with an Alfies shot from about 20 yards out. The ball looked destined to hit the top right corner of the net but for a fantastic save from Collins. In the 40th minute, Boca couldn't fully clear a corner and a shot from the edge of the box forced another diving save out of the Boca netminder. A last minute short corner (video below) almost proved Boca's undoing, but Alfies couldn't quite steer it on target. 0-0 the final score.

Wembledines 7-0 Kearney's Army

The league table won't be pretty reading for Kearney's Army on Monday morning as they succumbed to a 7-0 defeat to Wembledines. Kearney's got off to an unlucky start when after 4 minutes, a Wembledines cross from the right found its way straight into the goal. In the 18th minute, a corner kick was met by a Wembledines head and Dines raced out into a 2-0 lead. The goal of the game came in the 48th minute as Wembledines scored a goal out of nothing. 25 yards out without much on, the Dines man decided to curl one into the bottom corner. Great goal. Wembledines added another on the counter attack (video below) to add the cherry on top.
